The Big Picture

Learning simplified, in an environment your child will love.

We are committed to the fundamentals. Our programs were established on the belief that when we support students, and create an environment that fosters their natural curiosities and is committed to ensuring social, intellectual, and physical development, the possibilities and their potential are endless.

If a child can't learn the way we teach, then we teach the way they learn!

Why the rotary schedule changes everything

The single feature parents tell us they understand the least before they enrol, and value the most afterwards. This section makes the case and shows a real day.

  • Across a single week your child works with six different teachers, each a specialist in their own subject. That means several sets of experienced eyes on your child, so a struggle or a real strength gets noticed early. The feedback you receive is specific to your child and their work, never a vague line like “Jimmy was a delight to have in class.”
  • Every subject is taught by someone who truly knows it. From math and French to phys-ed and the arts, each block is led by a dedicated specialist with credentials and real depth in their field. Your child learns from a team of experts, each bringing genuine expertise to the subject they teach.
  • A rotary day encourages your child to take ownership of their day. With our teachers guiding them, they move between rooms, pack up their own materials after each class, and begin to keep track of their own time. These small, supported habits grow naturally into real independence and confidence.
  • By the time your child finishes elementary, the rhythms of high school already feel familiar. Changing classes, working with different teachers, and managing their own schedule have become second nature, so the move to Grade 9 feels like a natural next step rather than a leap into the unknown.

A typical rotary day

The same steady rhythm for everyone, five subject periods, two nutrition breaks, and lunch, but the subjects themselves are shaped around your child. No two timetables look quite alike.

The things families want to know first

These are the questions families ask us most. If yours isn't here, get in touch and we'll be happy to help.

Yes. LAMA is a registered, inspected Ontario private school, so you can be confident that your child’s education here is held to provincial standards and is recognized accordingly.

Yes, and supporting children like yours is at the heart of what we do. LAMA is an inclusive school, and we believe every child learns in their own way. Whether your child has an IEP, a learning difference, or is working ahead and ready for more of a challenge, we would welcome the chance to sit down with you one-on-one to understand their needs and talk through how we can best support them. We would always rather have that conversation early and shape our approach around your child than offer a one-size-fits-all answer.

Our school day runs from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. For families who need a little more flexibility, late care is available in two blocks: from 3:30 to 4:00 PM, and from 4:00 to 6:00 PM.

We do not have a uniform policy, so children are free to come dressed comfortably for a full day of learning. Families are responsible for transportation to and from school day to day, though LAMA provides bus transportation for all field trips and off-site activities.

This is something we hold to very strictly. We cap our classes at 10 students, and many of our elective and specialist blocks run even smaller, sometimes just 4 to 5 children. That small ratio is the foundation of the close, individual attention we promise every family.

We take this seriously and keep parents firmly in the loop. LAMA has a strong anti-bullying culture, and if something comes up, we contact you directly so we can address it together. Day to day, we use our LAMA Dollars system, where students can be given “fines” for behaviour that falls short, giving children a clear and consistent understanding of what is expected of them.

Yes. Report cards and student records transfer to other schools, so if your family moves or your child continues their education elsewhere, their academic history travels with them.

The best first step is simply to get in touch. Email is the easiest way to reach us, so send a note to [email protected] and we would be glad to answer your questions and help you take the next step.
